Obituary for Burnice Leon McKinney

A Cox’s Creek resident, Mr. Burnice Leon McKinney, age 71, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1946 in Spencer County to the late W.E. and Mary Elizabeth Stevens McKinney. Burnice was a farmer.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cliddie McKinney.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Thompson McKinney, 2 daughters, Lori (Steve) Bunch of Cox’s Creek, Lisa Lewis of Jeffersontown, his son, Michael McKinney of Bardstown, 4 sisters, Jean Mobley, Annie Whitaker, Gracie (Arthur Ray) Cook, all of Taylorsville, Bonnie (Larry) Runner of Louisville, 2 brothers, Elwood (Mary Ruble) McKinney of Lawrenceburg, William (Mary) McKinney of Taylorsville and 2 grandchildren, Clayton Lewis and Kasey Lewis.
Funeral services for Mr. Burnice Leon McKinney will be 11:00 am Friday, December 29, 2017 at Wakefield Baptist Church. Bro. Tom Sparrow will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Wakefield Baptist Church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the family in memory of Mr. Burnice McKinney. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
