Obituary for Dolly Mattingly Richardson

A Taylorsville resident, Mrs. Dolly Richardson, age 85, passed away Monday, May 07, 2018 in Baptist Health in Louisville. She was born March 19, 1933 in Nelson County to the late Joseph Mansfield and Louella Pinkston Mattingly. Dolly was an employee of General Electric for 25 years, a former employee of the Singer Sewing Factory, member of Plum Creek Baptist Church, and member of the Springfield, Kentucky Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sneed, 2 sisters, Virlie Thomas, Margaret McClain, and 4 brothers, Heze, Dan, Raymond, and Jake Mattingly.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Richardson, her daughter, Della (Scott) Swan of Shepherdsville, her son, John Thomas “Tommy” (Nancy) Richardson of Bloomfield, her sister, Delcie Humes of Fairfield, 2 grandchildren, Dr. Sara (Clayton) Rogers and Madison Swan, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dolly Richardson will be 11:00 am Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Bro. John Rohr will officiate. Interment will be in Big Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00 pm. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
