Obituary for Eugene Cheser

A Bloomfield resident, Mr. Eugene Cheser, age 87, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was born August 6, 1930 in Washington County to the late Dewey and Nellie Hicks Cheser. Eugene was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a former City of Bloomfield and Nelson County Policeman, a United States Navy Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hahn Cheser and a sister, Ruby Peavler Crume.
He is survived by his daughter, Koren (Roy) Gordon of Cox’s Creek, 3 sons, Gerald (Angie) Cheser of Shepherdsville, Leonard (Debbie) Cheser and Darryl (Margaret) Cheser, both of Bardstown, 3 sisters, Mary Evelyn Clopton of Louisville, Judy (Al) Dinardo of Florida, Betty Lee (Gene) Stump of Bardstown, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Cheser will be 2:00 pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Tom Sparrow will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00-8:00 pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Wakefield Baptist Church. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
