Obituary for Joseph F. "Bobo" Fischer, Jr.

A Bardstown resident, Mr. Joseph Francis “Bobo” Fischer Jr., age 68, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 in Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born May 25, 1949 in Ft. Thomas, to the late Joseph Francis and Constance Rose Zimmerman. He was a graduate of Bellarmine University, an employee of Justice Glass, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert H. Zimmerman, sister, Elizabeth Hambrick, brother-in-law Tim Kelly, nephew, Tim Kelly Jr. and brother-in-law Howard Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Debby Dick Fischer, 3 daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Withers of Winchester, Meredith Smith, Natalie (Gabe) Stone, both of Bardstown, his son, Bryan (Laura) Smith of Lexington, 2 grandchildren, Deuce Stone and Truby Smith. He is also survived by brothers, Greg (Linda) Fischer, Michael (JoAnn) Fischer, Larry Hambrick, John(Penny) Fischer, Robert Zimmerman, sisters, Mary (Mark) Brackman, Miriam Kelly, Ann Fischer-Smith, Connie (Bill) Klump, 21 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00am at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, 110 North 5th St., Bardstown, with Reverend Terry Bradshaw celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 9:00am until mass at 11:00am. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
