Obituary for William F. Osborne

A Bardstown resident, Mr. William F. (Will F.) Osborne, age 91, passed away on February 6, 2018 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was formerly of the “Burg” and was married to the former Amanda Sims for 61 years.
Will F. was a member of St. Joseph Church, on the Bereavement Committee for several years and served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Barton Brands, LTD after 35 years as Traffic Manager. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1290, the American Legion Post #121, the Moose Club and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Spencer, Sr, and Louise Mudd Osborne, 4 sisters, Bessie Medley, Mabel Patterson, Rosemary Baker, Lucille Osborne, 3 brothers, Joseph Spencer Osborne, Jr., Jim Osborne and Bob Osborne.
He is survived by his wife Amanda Sims Osborne, 4 sons, Dennis (Michelle) Osborne, Doug (Debbie) Osborne, Don (Andrea) Osborne all of Bardstown, David Osborne, Georgetown, 2 daughters, Dianne (Jesse) Godbey, Bardstown, Dana (Kerry) Cecil, Louisville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, Frances Haydon, Therese Allen, Aline O’Mary, Louise Hicks and Shirley Rogers.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00am at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with Reverend Terry Bradshaw celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00pm with 6:00 prayers and Friday from 8:30-10:30am at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, who is in charge of arrangements.
