Obituary for Francis Garland Cecil
A Bardstown resident, Mr. Francis Garland Cecil age 88 passed away Tuesday, October 08, 2019 at his residence. He was born on May 5, 1931 to the late James Noel and Octavia Young Cecil. Francis was a farmer, a former employee of Heaven Hill Distillery retiring after 32 years in the warehouse and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Regina Reid Cecil, brothers, Charlie Cecil, Earl Cecil, Rudolph Cecil, Louis J. Cecil, Hugh Cecil, sisters, Eileen Cusick, Libby Ballard and Margaret Shain.
Francis his survived by his daughter, Joann(Carl) Sims of Loretto, 2 sons, Joseph Michael Cecil and Thomas Francis Cecil both of Bardstown, 7 grandchildren and 9 great -grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am, Thursday October 10, 2019 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Harris celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 3:00-8:00pm with prayers at 7:00pm with Deacon Sam Filiatreau. Additional visitation will be Thursday from 8:30-9:30am at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd. who is in charge of arrangements.
