Obituary for Shirley Mae Colvin

A Chaplin resident, Mrs. Shirley Mae Colvin, age 90, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at her residence. She was born September 25, 1928 in Nelson County to the late Garrett and Nannie Sparrow Thomas. Mrs. Colvin was a homemaker, member of the former Chaplin Fork Baptist Church, and loved fishing and gardening.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Colvin, a granddaughter, Michelle Carney, as well as 7 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Carney of Bardstown, and 2 grandchildren, Chad (Ashley) Carney of Des Moines, IA., and Melissa Carney of Bardstown.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Mae Colvin will be 11:00 am Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Rodney Lynch will officiate. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-8:00 pm. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
