Obituary for Lydian L Pendleton

Lydia Loraine Pendleton went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Bardstown. She was born on July 10, 1955 in Paducah to the late Thomas and Mary Williams. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Midway. Lydia was a dedicated and faithful member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for 18 years. She was a faithful member of the Temple choir, culinary ministry and also worked on the Evangelist Team and helped with the “Wee Praise” children’s choir. Lydia was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, was a former employee of the Brown Hotel in Louisville, a long time employee of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington and briefly worked at Amazon until her retirement in July, 2017.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Hedy Hobson and a sister-in-law.Lydia leaves to cherish a loving and devoted daughter, Ashely Sloan, 2 grandchildren, Jae’Lon and Aniyah, brothers, Thomas (Lavern) Williams, Frank Williams, Dartanya Williams, sister, Mamie Browne. She is also survived by several nieces, cousins and a large host of friends including special friends, Deborah Jean Haskins, Janice Shaw, Veda Bailey, a favorite cousin, Marquitta Hill and best friends, Mary Pettus, Emma Lewis and A. Garry.
A Memorial service will be Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00am at Shiloh Baptist Church at 237 E. 5th St., Lexington, KY with Pastor Joseph L. Owens officiating. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
